For today's series, my personal highlight of this winter, I'd like to quote a few words written by Hermann Hesse (1877-1962) about trees:
"They are like lonely ones. Not like hermits who have stolen away out of some weakness, but like great, lonely people (...). In their tops the world rushes, their roots rest in the infinite; alone they do not lose themselves in it, but strive with all strength of their life only the one: to fulfill their own, in them dwelling law, to develop their own form (...).
Trees are sanctuaries. Whoever knows how to talk to them, whoever knows how to listen to them, learns the truth. They do not preach doctrines and recipes, they preach, unconcerned about the individual, the primal law of life. A tree speaks: In me is a core, a spark, a thought hidden, I am life from eternal life".
I hope you enjoy my today's picture series!
Many greetings,
Thomas
