After our trip to Norway, we immediately had a turbulent time and used the weekends to switch off in nature. Fortunately, October started with wonderful weather at the weekends in some places and showed itself from its best side.
As we have often done in recent years, we once again explored heathland areas that were new to us, of which there really are many extremely interesting ones in the Netherlands. What Christina and I particularly like are the very varied areas: sometimes you can find “inland-sand-dunes” with huge, very old Scots pines in a very small space, right next to beautiful marshland areas whose heathland is often surrounded by oak forests.
All these habitats are very bright and friendly. In contrast to the many dark forests of the german forests, for example, you always see the first and last light there; that's why we love it in these habitats and will continue to explore many Dutch areas in the future.
This time we travelled to three different municipalities in the north of the country and were particularly lucky with the morning fog - which is great for photography 😉
I hope you enjoy the first impressions from the golden month of October...
Best regards,
Thomas
