Landscape photography in Ses Salines

As already mentioned in the first part of my Majorca pictures, we had a very small radius of action around our finca this year 😅 We simply love the south of Majorca and the area around Ses Salines. In March and April, the meadows are in bloom everywhere and the weather is still pleasantly cool at night. So this year I decided to take a closer look at certain parts of the coast ‘on our doorstep’, in the municipalities of Ses Salines and Santanyi.

And the time was great. In the second and third week of our stay, there were great cloud structures with changeable weather, rather untypical for Majorca, but of course ideal for landscape photography. The sky was impressive in some way practically every day in the morning or evening during these two weeks, and I didn't even take every opportunity.

There are many interesting rock structures in this corner of the coast that form small natural tide pools. These are normally filled with sand or salt from April/May and look interesting as they are. This time, however, they were filled due to the regular rainfall and also because of very high waves or tides. This fascinated me photographically.

I was also able to capture some beautiful light moods in the salt flats and kept getting ‘stuck’ on the fantastic almond trees, but you can't do everything at once. Next year I will probably do a series on almond and olive trees, at least that's what I've decided to do now.

So I'll now show you a selection of landscape pictures from this beautiful corner in the south of Majorca. The next part will follow shortly, when I will take you on an excursion into the world of plants.

Many greetings,

Thomas
